Here are some of the concoctions we’ve come up since we joined forces as Chicken and Dumpling, (otherwise known as Husband and Wife). A word about these recipes is probably in order before we get too into this blog. And by that I mean somewhat of a disclaimer and apology: I’m not a very exact cook anymore, and rarely measure out the things I randomly throw together to make my dishes, ( this explains why my fledgling cheese-making attempts have been a little lacking, as our friend science is more to thank for cheese, come to find out, than our friend serendipity). I’ll be as accurate as possible with the devilish details, but follow your instincts with these. Feel free to experiment, substitute, and otherwise make your own riffs based on the following…
Note that those recipes marked *Local* can be made with ingredients to be found within 100 (give or take a few) miles of San Francisco. See our page “Eat Local” for a directory and review of our favorite neighbor-vendors. If you want to try using ingredients from your local peeps but don’t know where to start, visit this site for a handy guide to farmers, butchers, and bakers in your area!
